Tilt uses only the two end points — P₁ is the start (fixed at 0) and P₃ is the end. Because tilt is a slope (rise ÷ run), units matter: elevations in inches and length in feet give a result in in/ft.

Allowable tilt is the uniform slope whose end-to-end drop equals L / 360 (≈ 0.0333 in/ft). The document defines L/360 for deflection, not tilt — adjust the ratio or ask to use a different tilt standard.
